Abigail Marie Skidmore

Well it's hard to believe but she is finally here!!! Abigail Marie Skidmore was born on Aug. 20, 2008 at 12:02 am. Eli and I thought it was quite fitting that we prayed to have a full term baby this time around and she decided to come right on her due date...talk about getting exactly what you pray for! She weighted 7 lbs 6 oz and was 20 1/2 inches long. We of course think she is beautiful! Caden is still not sure what to think. He does like to help Eli change her diapers and always make sure he lets us know when she is crying. So far Abby seems to be surviving all of Caden's high pitched screams. It's a miracle she can sleep though that!!!

Davis County Fair

We took Caden to the Davis County Fair on Friday because Eli had heard there was going to be a magic show. Well the magic show wasn't that impressive but we had a lot of fun anyway. They had a few carnival rides that I was actually thinking about trying out, hoping that it might put me into labor. No such luck...I guess this baby girl is determined to hold out for as long as possible! Anyway Caden had alot fun especially on the pony ride. We thought it would freak him out but he REALLY loved it!

There was a kids area that had a bunch of these little cars in a hay maze. Caden kept asking for some keys to start his car.

Eli says that you only live once so you should try new things, so he decided that

he wanted to enter the pie eating contest.

He won by a landslide! Then again his competition did include a lady that was like 80 years old!He managed to down almost the whole Chocolate Cream Pie in 1 minute minus the crust. His prize was a gift certificate to Marie Callendars for dinner!

The BIG 30!!!

It's official!!! Eli turned 30 on Thursday and has left his carefree 20's behind. I told him that I guess this means he has to start acting like a grown-up and of course he said no way!

30 candles ended up being quite a bit to blow out and left a pretty

big cloud of smoke.

I think it took him 2 tries, already winded in his old age!

I just had to post a picture of the cake I made. It was a chocolate raspberry

with a chocolate ganache. Yummy!!!

Sam goes to the MTC

Today we got to go to the MTC (Missionary Training Center) to drop off Eli's younger brother Sam. I guess I should say Elder Skidmore! It always brings back alot of memories of my own mission experience every time I go to the MTC. Sam has been in Utah for a couple of days and you could tell he was just anxious to get started with his mission! Eli said he was getting a little teary-eyed when it came time to say goodbye! Anyway it was so neat that we were able to be there for such a special time. Here are a few pictures of the day...sorry they are totally out of order!

Eli was showing Caden a few magic tricks with some coins the other day. Caden was totally entertained. He just couldn't seem to figure out where the coins kept going.

Fun in the Sun

Caden's favorite place to play is at Grandpa's house. Hey what's not to love...there is water, a yard, a tramp, and of course Max the dog. The pictures are a bit out of order. Oh well.

Bear Lake

We spent last weekend up at Bear Lake with my family. Caden loved playing at the beach. The water was really shallow around the end of the lake so he could get pretty far out and still be standing up, plus the water was pretty warm! Caden's cousin Rusty was there and the two of them had fun playing in the sand and the water. The place we stayed at was having problems with the hot water (long story) so we didn't really want to shower after the beach. I called the KOA to see about using their showers and was told it would cost $10. At first I thought that was crazy, but then my desire to be clean was so strong that I actually had Eli drive me down and yes I paid $10 for a shower!!! Hey give me a break-I am 8 months pregnant!!! The guys decided to take cold showers at the cabin! Eli said that he was totally numb by the end of his shower, but they were really brave! Way to go, guys! All in all it was a great weekend.
